Mardles.org website took over from Mardles print magazine which ceased publication in January 2018. The aim of the website is to share information about folk music and dance in East Anglia and to support folk events in the area. This will include keeping an up-to-date website, maintaining regular contact with subscribers, and organizing folk events as finances allow. We are a non-profit-making organization.
Here's what we do
Our What’s On section lists folk music and dance events in East Anglia.
We review East Anglian folk events and recordings by East Anglian musicians
We provide support for groups wishing to organise folk events, workshops and organize our own
To date we have supported a ceilidh for Suffolk schools, run ceilidhs in Norwich and have organized Melodeon and Fiddle workshops.
Our Morris and Molly section includes listings and articles and great photos.
We include advertisements for local and national folk events and businesses
We send out occasional Mailchimp newsletters to subscribers to the website, drawing attention to special events in the area or articles on the website, you can subscribe here
We take great care to ensure that the contents of all parts of the website are accurate. However, we accept no liability for any mistakes or misprints that appear. The views and opinions expressed in articles are those of the individual authors and do not reflect the opinions of the editor or any of the Mardles team.
We invite everyone with an interest in Folk Music and Dance to submit articles, reviews and event listings. Please see Contact Us if you would like to contribute.
If you become a Subscriber, you will receive an occasional Mail Chimp newsletter drawing your attention to events, for example workshops in our area.
