Feast of Acoustic Music on Saturday 28th April at The Canopy Theatre, Hungate Street, Beccles

Twice nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, contemporary folk/acoustic duo GILMORE & ROBERTS will be headlining the day.

Combining award-winning songwriting with brilliant musicianship, Katriona Gilmore (fiddle, mandolin) and Jamie Roberts (guitar) have toured Canada and mainland Europe, played some of the UK’s biggest acoustic festivals, toured with folk rock legends Fairport Convention and won countless accolades for their genre-spanning work.

Their fourth studio album, Conflict Tourism, released in 2015 appeared on several end-of-year Best Album lists and received national airplay on both BBC Radio 2 & BBC 6music. This was followed in 2016 by the release of their first live album, marking 10 years of playing together. A new studio album is due this summer

The six other acts appearing are DOGHOUSE ROSES (a highly acclaimed folk / Americana duo from Glasgow formed by guitarist Paul Tasker and singer Iona Macdonald in 2006), JOSEPH PARSONS from Philadelphia (a prolific songwriter, recording artist and performer with over 20 commercial label releases). 

 Alden, Patterson & Dashwood

Norwich based folk / Americana trio ALDEN, PATTERSON AND DASHWOOD (whose independently-released debut album ‘Call Me Home’ was chosen by the editor of fROOTS magazine as his “Album of the Year” in 2016). 

Honey & The Bear

Folk and roots inspired duo HONEY & THE BEAR from Woodbridge combining delicately interweaving vocal harmonies with powerful guitar riffs.

Popular husband and wife folk duo PENNY AND STUART MACK with guitarswhistles, percussion and powerful vocals and the BURKITT FAMILY, a four piece family band hailing from the Bawdsey Peninsula in Suffolk, who play a beguiling mix of contemporary and traditional acoustic music, featuring tight vocal harmonies and playing guitar, flute, fiddle and cello.
